Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the daily operations of a fast-paced AP department, managing vendor relationships, payment processing, expense reporting, and general ledger functions. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, accuracy of financial information, and timely payments. The manager will also analyze and resolve complex issues, manage monthly financial closings, and implement procedural improvements for efficiency and scalability within the accounts payable system.

Must Have

  • Manage day-to-day functions of a fast-paced accounts payable department.
  • Oversee weekly payment processing (check, ACH, Credit Card Payments).
  • Manage expense reporting processes and reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable functions related to the general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing payment to vendors.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information into the system and subsequent payments.
  • Analyze and resolve complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates or vendors.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information.
  • Create and implement methods, or procedures to meet operational and scalability needs.
  • Develop, improve and maintain systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable system.
  • Five or more years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate to purchasing and accounts payable.
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
  • Solid understanding of the procurement to payment cycle.
  • ERP Accounts Payable system experience.
  • 1099 filing experience.
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel is a must.

Good to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Three to five years of leadership experience.
  • NetSuite experience.
  • Prior experience with Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Project management and migration experience.

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager in Saint Louis, MO. Duties Include:

  • Manage day-to-day functions of a fast-paced accounts payable department including customer and vendor relationships, weekly payment processing (check, ACH and Credit Card Payments), expense reporting processes, and reporting as assigned
  • Manage accounts payable functions related to the general ledger
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing payment to vendors including companies and consultants, including annual filing of form 1099-MISC
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information into the system and subsequent payments
  • Analyze and resolve complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates or vendors
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; Ensure accuracy of financial statements
  • Create and implement methods, or procedures to meet operational and scalability needs, while developing, improving and maintaining systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Five or more years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
  • Three to five years of leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate to purchasing and accounts payable
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
  • Must possess solid understanding of the procurement to payment cycle
  • ERP Accounts Payable system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience, NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Prior experience with Mergers and Acquisitions and project management and migration a plus
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills; Proficiency with Excel is a must

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
